Autoimmune Disease and Allergy Recovery
Allergies and autoimmune diseases affect millions of Canadians. Autoimmune diseases are conditions in which a person’s immune system which is designed to attack invading germs and foreign substances attacks the body instead. Allergy is another type of immune over-activation. With allergy, the immune system over-reacts instead of attacking the body after a person is exposed to a substance like a chemical, food or drug.
Allergies and autoimmune disease have several known causes such as vitamin deficiency, low adrenal function, chronic infection, poor diet and toxin exposure. Even though various causes of autoimmune disease are well-documented, most doctors are not aware of them. It is also concerning that the treatment for autoimmune disease often consists of medicines that weaken the immune system, putting the patient at increased risk of infections or cancer.
At Sano Via Wellness, we use advanced non-invasive diagnostic testing to search for known causes of allergies and autoimmune disease. Based on the testing, we can design specific treatment plans that address these root causes. In difficult cases we can use non-specific immune modulating therapies that do not weaken the immune system in order to reduce the effects of the disease. Our personalized evidence-based approach is based on analysis of published research from around the world. This allows us to manage autoimmune disease and reduce or avoid the use of risky medication or even major surgery.
Some of the strategies we use to manage autoimmune disease and allergies include:
- High dose intravenous blood ozonation and therapy and ozonated saline infusions for immune modulation, therapy of hidden infections and generalized accelerated healing in the body
- Ozone injections with Prolozone™ technique using a specific natural medication mixture, to stimulate natural healing and repair of painful or damaged joints
- Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection in combination with Prolozone to accelerate natural healing and repair of individual painful or damaged joints
- Antioxidant infusion therapy to reduce harmful inflammation in the body and stimulate healing
- Intravenous chelation therapy to remove heavy metals that contribute to chronic inflammation
- Special anti-inflammatory organic diet strategy designed by Dr. Doug Andrews, ND
- High dose vitamin D therapy for immune modulation
- Specific natural medicines
Our comprehensive Autoimmune Consultation and diagnostic workup may include some or all of the following (depending on individual needs):
- Initial consultation
- Blood testing including blood cell counts, kidney function, liver function, salt balance, inflammatory markers, antibody levels, vitamin D level, thyroid function
- Advanced hormone testing including adrenal function, sex hormones, neurotransmitters, melatonin
- Dysbiosis testing by DNA-PCR method (bowel bacterial balance)
- Provoked heavy metal toxicity measurement
- Glyphosate (RoundUpTM) level measurement
- Blood pathogen panel by DNA-PCR method (bacteria that contribute to specific autoimmune diseases)
- Intestinal permeability (“leaky gut”) measurement with blood zonulin protein level
- Rheumatology specialist referral as needed
- Follow-up for review of test results and development of prevention/treatment strategy including nutrition and fitness plan, supplement plan, and advanced therapy strategy
- Treatment strategy depends on results of tests, typically may involve 3 months of intense therapy (e.g. vitamin infusion, glutathione infusion, metals chelation, iv ozone, adrenal therapy) followed by ongoing lifetime prevention and maintenance
