Sports Injury Severe Pain Resolved With Prolozone

Patient Background

Brandon visited Sano Via requesting treatment for worsening chronic knee and low back pain. He was a hardcore athlete involved in body building. He had previously been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee and lumbar spine, which was not curable by conventional medical therapy. He was also diagnosed with a slipped L5 back bone (spondylolisthesis) which was only correctable with major spine surgery. The pains were present for about a year, but were worsening considerably in the 3 months before his consultation. Brandon was not satisfied with the lack of solutions offered by his doctor. The knee pain had become so bad that he was considering requesting knee replacement surgery if no other solution could be found.

Findings

At the first visit, Brandon was unable to find a comfortable position, constantly shifting while sitting in a chair. Examination revealed that that most painful point on the back was located at the left L5 level beside the spine (in the para-spinal muscles). The right knee was sore to the touch as the connection of the top of the fibula to the tibia (the superior tibiofibular joint).

Prolozone Treatment

Sano Via medical staff explained to Brandon that ProlozoneTM may be useful. Risks and benefits were discussed. Brandon decided to try the Prolozone due to very low risk level and good potential for pain reduction. The painful areas were marked for Prolozone injection. The area to be injected on the back was sterilized, then cooled with ethyl chloride spray for a few seconds to prevent pain from the needle. A needle was inserted right at the tender point. Prolozone Anti-Inflammatory Formula containing procaine and various natural medicines was injected into the spinal muscle and fascia. This was followed by ozone injection directly into muscle and fascia, at a precise concentration that is known to stimulate healing and tissue regeneration.

Immediate Pain Reduction

After the back injection, Brandon was surprised to report that the severe pain had disappeared completely. A second injection was then carried our with Prolozone Anti-Inflammatory Formula directly into the tibiofibular joint, followed by ozone. The knee pain completely disappeared immediately after the injection.

Brandon was a smoker so he was advised to quit immediately, since smoking would interfere with the ozone therapy. He was provided with a premium electronic cigarette device, tobacco flavoured liquids with various nicotine concentrations, and detailed instructions. He tried the e-cigarette at the office and felt satisfied.

Addition of PRP as a Booster

After 2 weeks Brandon returned for further therapy due to relapse of pain. He was then given the option to add PRP as a booster to the Prolozone therapy. He agreed, so 20ml of blood was drawn and processed using a special centrifuge and PRP separation kit. The blood components were separated: red and white cells were discarded, leaving a high concentration of platelets in the plasma. This platelet rich plasma (PRP) was injected into the spine muscle and tibiofibular joint along with the Prolozone formula and ozone gas. Once again, both pains completely disappeared.

Positive Results, No Side Effects

After one month there was a mild return of pain in the back and knee. Brandon admitted that he had continued with some heavy exercise, and cut down but did not completely quit smoking. Further Prolozone therapy combined with PRP resulted in long-term success with pain treatment. Brandon was advised to test for heavy metal and glyphosate toxicity, work harder at quitting smoking, and modify his exercise routine in order to reduce the need for further Prolozone treatments. All injections were either painless or nearly painless and long-term pain reduction or elimination was the final outcome. A maintenance plan of Prolozone and PRP 2 or 3 times per year combined with iv ozone was recommended. Brandon decided to follow the plan and remains comfortable today.

Prolozone Definitions

Prolozone

A term combining the words "procaine" and "ozone". Refers to injection of a mixture of procaine, vitamins, glucose and marine plasma into a joint, combined with ozone at a precise concentration.

Procaine

A local anesthetic drug. Used to help correctly localize the needle when doing a Prolozone treatment, and to prevent discomfort related to injecting ozone into the body (can cause temporary pain).

PRP Injection

Blood sample with red and white cells removed, and a high number of platelets, which contain special proteins that encourage healing and repair. PRP is injected into the area needing a healing boost.

Ozone

A form of oxygen containing 3 atoms (O3) unlike the oxygen in the air we breathe (O2). Ozone can stimulate healing and repair in the body, improve oxygen delivery to the organs and kill germs.
